Top Five Local Pitch 'n' Putts

Suggested by:

Jonas, North Vancouver

Golf can be a four-hour exercise in anger management and restraint - it's a tough game. But Pitch n' Putts are short and easy enough to let anyone enjoy the thrill of a day on the links.

Vancouver is blessed with a lot of different courses to choose from. We've compiled a list of the five best.

Ambleside Par 3

1201 Marine Drive, West Vancouver
604.922.3818
18 holes
$9.25

Located in picturesque West Vancouver, Ambleside Pitch Putt makes you feel like you are at Pebble Beach. The ocean is just steps away and seabirds dot the fairways. Be careful, though; the beauty of this course can be deceiving with water hazards lining the south and west sides. The hole lengths vary, but the shorter ones are tricky due to their proximity to water. Put on those plus fours and visor and get ready to yell FORE!

Murdo Fraser Par 3 Golf Course

2700 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver
604.980.8410
9 Holes
$5

Murdo Fraser is nestled at the foot of Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver. It is a very calm and relaxing course, with beautiful gardens and manmade water hazards scattered throughout. The signature hole features an elevated tee box where you have to shoot over a water hazard to a deceivingly close hole below. Let the surreal calmness of the course balance out the frustration you will experience when navigating Murdo Fraser.

Stanley Park Pitch and Putt

2099 Beach Avenue, Vancouver
604.681.8847
18 Holes
$11.75

Located in the crown jewel of downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, this par 3 is surrounded by the Ted and Mary Greig Rhododendron Garden and large conifer trees. It is very busy, but if you are lucky enough to get in a round you will not be disappointed. The scenery is unparalleled with views of English Bay and the surrounding park. It is a relatively easy course with few hazards except for maybe the odd seagull.

Queen Elizabeth Park Pitch and Putt

Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver
604.874.8336
18 holes
$11.75

QE Pitch and Putt is one of the many activities that are located in this amazing park. You can spend a whole day not just pitch and putting but Frisbee golfing, touring gardens and even watching a ball game. This course is certainly one of the oldest in Vancouver, being built in 1965.

Central Park Pitch n' Putt

3833 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC
604.434.2727
18 Holes
$9.66

Located in Burnaby, this lovely course is situated in a spectacular urban park. It is decorated with large Fir and Evergreen trees that make for some very interesting holes. However, those are not the major hazards; along the south side of the course is a major traffic artery. It's kinda hard for drivers to hear you yell fore.
